About HardToEasy

HardToEasy started from a frustration everyone has felt: a simple task — add subtitles to a video, grab a thumbnail, convert a file — somehow requires creating an account, uploading private files to a stranger's server, and hitting a paywall two clicks later. We thought the web could do better, so we built tools that don't work that way.

Our philosophy

Every HardToEasy tool is guided by three principles:

• Your device does the work. Modern browsers can run serious software — speech recognition, image processing, file conversion — without phoning home. We build on that capability so your files never need to leave your computer.
• Small and sharp beats big and bloated. Each tool does one job well instead of being a dashboard of half-finished features. Open it, finish the task, close the tab.
• Free means free. No trials, no watermarks, no "pro" upsell hiding the feature you actually need. Advertising on our pages keeps the lights on so the tools can stay free for everyone.

The tools so far

SubEasy generates subtitle files (SRT, VTT, ASS) from video audio automatically, right in your browser — built for creators, educators, and anyone tired of transcribing by hand.

YouThumb downloads YouTube thumbnails in full resolution from any video link — built for designers, marketers, and researchers who work with video content daily.

More tools are on the way. Each new addition has to earn its place by meeting the same bar: genuinely useful, respectful of your privacy, and free.

Who's behind this

HardToEasy is an independent project run by a small team that believes good software doesn't need to be extractive. We don't take venture funding, we don't sell data, and we don't do growth hacks — we just try to make tools we'd want to use ourselves.
